Oh how I love shovelware!
I never go on assignment without my pink DS. And lately, I’ve been packing My Sims: Agents with me. What with all the murder and all I haven’t been able to sit down and play through the game proper just yet, but I’ve gotten a great first impression. With My Sims: Agents, not only do you have all the regular Sims tweaks and upgrades available (for your Sim and the surrounding community), but this time around, you’re also an Agent!
With this offering, you’re a bad ass in a small town, ready to solve a big crime. But that’s not all. EA has thrown in some excellent side quests that are enjoyable, and they tie in nicely to the main story. If you choose to do them it’ll only boost your success, and if not…no biggy.
The basic Sims-on-the-DS formula is here – as always. The twist of being an Agent only becomes apparent after you’ve gone crazy buying clothes for yourself and accessories for your pad. Your house has been given to you by the Mayor of the town as thanks for your services. Your Assistant (which I named Mortimer) goes straight there and sets up a secret entrance down to the basement. Here, he proceeds to pimp this place out into your crazy Super Secret Agent Field Office. You’ve got the most updated electronics, access to info on all the town occupants and a direct connection to Home Base. Mortimer…You ROCK!!!
Part of your duties as an Agent in this town is to help the occupants so they’ll be more likely to trust and help you. Here’s where it’s important to accept the Side Quests. Although most are unnecessary, some will give you vital clues for quests – some of which are as simple as beautifying the town. If you want to be a successful Agent, you’ve got to gain all the clues you can. If that means kissing some local PD ass, then I suggest you do it.
So far, this is an all around fun and engaging game for any fan of the Sims. It’s hard to put down. You know, once you get that next clue, you’re going to be that much closer to finding that big Baddie. So, keep those townspeople happy and keep unraveling those clues and kick the bad guy’s ass.
