Michael "Modus" TopperMichael “Modus” Topper

Senior Editor, Owner

Michael is the founder of RoboAwesome and serves also as senior editor and web designer and although he’s been called a hero, alas, he is just a man. He’s always lived in Southern California and is a devout gamer. In typical Western gamer fashion Michael mostly enjoys shooter games like Call of Duty and Halo as well as stealth action like Metal Gear Solid and Splinter Cell.

Carl B.

Editor, PR Manager

When Carl was a kid he would always play whatever his family had for the SNES. He was really into the Super Star Wars series and The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. Once the N64 launched, his parents got that and a copy of Ocarina of Time which he played to death, and that sort of planted the seeds of Zelda addiction. Now Carl spends his days in a padded room somewhere in Colorado rocking back and forth mumbling something about a Triforce and a guy named Ganondorf. Yep… that’s pretty much it. So sad…

Jessie Moore

 Editor, Video Content

From a small town in Northern Florida, Jessie has been gaming since his parents got him an NES. From then he was hooked. As he grew up he realized he was an equal opportunity nerd, enjoying all things nerdy, from comics, anime, Sci-fi, table top gaming, sports, and of course video games. His favorite are MMO’s, RPGs, Action Adventure…. really anything as long as its fun. Jessie also enjoys video game music!

Aron Deppert

Editor, Social Media Manager

As a youngin’, Aron cut his gaming teeth on the NES. Countless hours spent in Hyrule and the Mushroom Kingdom helped him cultivate the skills that are the basis of what he is today: Chicago’s most ruthless Pokémon master. Some would think a bearded man pushing 30 would be ashamed to be seen in public wearing a Pikachu hat, but for Aron it is a badge of honor. When he’s not collecting gym badges, Aron likes games such as those from the Final Fantasy, Super Mario Bros., Legend of Zelda, and Ace Attorney series.

Eli Cymet

Anthony “JynX” RodriguezStaff Writer, Culinary MasterAnthony was born in lovely Los Angeles but spent a lot of his early years moving around with his family – West coast, East coast and even that middle bit with no coast! He’s a fan of whatever can hold his attention whether it’s Modern Warfare, Grass Growing Hero, or one of his guilty pleasures… Viva Pinata. Along with his love for gaming he’s also a huge anime and manga nerd and has had the amazing opportunity to take a few trips to Japan [famous for anime and tentacle rape]. So that’s some of Jynx in a paragraph. He bids you to enjoy the site and articles and take it easy!
Patrick Cowles

Staff Writer, Jesus Look-A-Like

Patrick Cowles began playing video games on a black-screen green-tint Apple 2E traversing the Oregon Trail. Since then his tastes for games have spread to all genres and systems. Yet true to his origins Cowles has never strayed too far from his computer roots. Cowles is now a college graduate and writer, but his avid thirst for games has yet to be quenched. He currently resides in Orange County California.
Ryan O’Donnell

Staff Writer, All Around Swell Guy (AASG)

In an origin story similar to many gamers his age, Ryan started out playing Super Mario Bros. on his uncle’s old NES and hasn’t looked back since, with the exception of a brief period in high school where he thought he was too cool for nerdy things but quickly realized he was not. Although an equal opportunity gamer, Ryan’s favorite genres include action, first person shooters, and RPGs. These take up the majority of his gaming time, except for a brief period every Fall when he puts everything to the side to immerse himself in playing Madden, a phase which lasts about a month. Originally from the East Coast, he currently resides in Southern California and hopes to find a lifelong career in the video game industry in either journalism or marketing/PR. Ryan’s favorite game franchises include Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy, and Legend of Zelda.

Tegan Harris

Staff Writer, UK Correspondant

Tegan didn’t take the Nintendo route into gaming- her first experiences were with the family Commodore64, watching her mom play Booty and her dad fail at Suicide Express. While she enjoyed bashing through Streets of Rage and Golden Axe on the Mega Drive, it was driving and racing games that fueled her formative years. When she came across a listing of universities offering courses in Computer Games, she quickly turned away from her ideas of being a marine biologist and signed up for four years of 3D modelling/animation, ludology and motion capture. Born and brought up in the middle of the UK, she is planning to graduate with her Masters in 2011 then head off to countries new to live and work. And play her second 360 to a red-ringed death.
