Fallout: New Vegas Dead Money Releases on PC and PS3 Platforms

Though the Xbox 360® crowd received this first downloadable content update to Bethesda’s latest incantation of the Fallout® series back in December, Dead Money is now available for PC and Playstation® 3 via Steam® or Direct 2 Drive and  the Playstation® Network.  The downloadable content costs $9.99.

The victim of a raw deal turned sour, Dead Money casts the player into a wicked game as a pawn in chess along with other betrayed wastelanders.  The player must work with the AI wastelanders to gain access to the fabled Sierra Madra Casino in hopes of obtaining the treasures hidden within the casino.

Facing ghastly new enemies with a few new weapons, the DLC will bring more additions to Fallout®: New Vegas™ than just more plot and storyline.

Fallout: New Vegas Dead Money to Release on PC and PS3

Yes it’s true, two months after the release of the first downloadable content for Fallout®: New Vegas™ on Xbox 360®, PC and PS3™ players will be vindicated with Dead Money.  Set to release on February 22, the DLC will be available over the Playstation®Network, Steam®, and Direct2Drive®.

Initially released exclusively for the Xbox 360® on Dec. 21, 2010; Dead Money will pit the player as a pawn in a vicious game to retrieve the fabled treasures hidden inside the Sierra Madra Casino.  However, the DLC will also require the player to work in tandem with three other wastelanders if they intend discover what awaits them in the casino, or to simply survive the live-action chess game they have been unwillingly thrown into.

Bethesda also stated with this announcement that three more add-ons to last year’s hit Fallout®: New Vegas™ will be releasing in the coming months.  As a relief to PC and PS3™ owners, these additional DLCs will release for all three platforms simultaneously.

Bethesda Announces Fallout: New Vegas Downloadable Content Exclusive to Xbox 360

Bethesda Softworks® announced today that the first addition of downloadable content for Fallout®: New Vegas™ will release exclusively on Xbox LIVE® for the Xbox 360®.  To Microsoft console gamers the world over, enjoy the content before the rest of the gaming world; you’ll be able to get it Dec. 21…merry Christmas.

Titled, Dead Money, this addition of content will pit Fallout’s latest hero against new terrain, villains, and choices.  As with the beginning of New Vegas™, Dead Money casts the player as the victim of a raw deal gone sour; however the hero is not alone this time around.  Instead you will need to work hand-in-glove with three other betrayed wastelanders to recover the fabled treasure of Sierra Madra Casino.

“We’re pleased to give fans a chance to expand their experience in Fallout: New Vegas this December with Dead Money,” said Pete Hines, VP of PR and Marketing for Bethesda Softworks®. “The release of Dead Money illustrates our commitment to creating entertaining add-on content for players to enjoy in already massive games like Fallout: New Vegas.”

Fallout®: New Vegas™ Dead Money has yet to be rated the ESRB.

Dead Money will costs 800 Microsoft points.

As for Playstation®3 gamers and PC players, Bethesda has given no indication as to when or if, this content will reach your system.
